Alcoholic beverages sold in the grocery stores are limited to maximum of 4.7% ABV and higher ABV products can only be sold in the state owned ALKO stores. Also the products sold in grocery stores must be produced by fermenting (e.g. vodka/rum mixers are not allowed to be sold outside ALKO stores).
Homebrewn beer cannot be sold nor can it be served in a commercial activity. Homebrewn beer can be made from grain or malted grain or such products e.g. wort, extract or sugars that have been made from grain. Half of the extract or sugars have to be made of grain products. Other alcoholic products can be made from fruits, berries, grapes or rhubarb or other plant parts that give aroma. Distillation is prohibited in domestic use.
