Water Hardness Adjustment

This tool estimates resulting water hardness after mineral salts addition. Calculation was inspired by book Pivařka.

Notes:
  • This tool is available for registered users only.
  • Choose units.
  • Enter source water hardness and its volume.
  • Enter weight of mineral salts.
    • Gypsum can accentuate hop flavor.
    • Calcium Chloride emphasises malt flavor.
    • To preserve sulphate to chloride ratio add Gypsum and Calcium Chloride in 46% to 54% ratio.
